INHABITANTS:

This district is less than a mile from Arucas town centre, on the right-hand side of the road to Cambalud, where there is a junction leading either to El Trapiche, Firgas or Moya. It is a promontory of volcanic origin, which started to be inhabited in the mid-nineteenth century, during the cochineal boom, and became fully residential during the 20th century.

The holding is perfectly adapted to the layout of the land, organised into rectangular plots on a gentle slope down to the El Pinto ravine in the south. To the north and west there is a sudden change in the land, with very steep slopes looking over the La Pollina ravine and the Hoya de la Campana. This is a compact residential area consisting of single family homes, built by their owners, with many examples of popular Canary Island architecture. La Montañeta has excellent panoramic views and lies in an area of incomparable environmental quality.
