This small settlement is in the vicinity of La Montañeta. It is located on a small ridge between the El Pinto and La Pollina ravines. It started with just a few houses belonging to farm workers and the guards of the Arucas and Firgas Water Owners’ Association’s reservoirs at the beginning of the 19th century. Its modern development dates largely from the 1970’s. The origins of the name of La Fula are not well known and there is only one other example, in Mogán, next to the Agujereada ravine, where we find a settlement called Casas de la Fula.
