This is a modern residential estate on the highest part of the municipality of Arucas. The old Los Altabacales road used to pass through the area, and it was a typical settlement in the transition area between the coast and the peak district in the centre of the island, which passed through Los Portales. For most of the owners, it is their second home (with only 6 of them registered in the municipality in 1991) and is in the vicinity of the Doramas Rural Park, a protected nature area.
