It is located on the Arucas coastline.
Its name comes from the presence of ospreys, of which there used to be
a large number. This name is more specifically applied to a series of
caves on the coast, some small salt mines, a farming area and the road
leading to them. The road has been tarmacked, and the area from Trasmontaña
to the north road has recently become residential.
